History:

Portal-Tek began as a part sourcing company for Volvo portal axle components in 2006. In 2007 Portal-Tek introduced the Gen II Volvo Disc Brake Adapter (VDBA) kit for Volvo C303-404 portal axles. This kit allowed for the Volvo C303-404 portal axles to be fitted with aftermarket Wilwood discs and calipers.

Gen II Vovlo Disc Brake Adapter

Shortly after the launch of the Gen II VDBA kit Portal-Tek introduced to market the Gen III Fully Floating Portal Axle. Portal-Tek used the “Gen” delineation to pay homage to the original generation of Volvo portal axles. The Gen III proved to be a strong axle platform as it demonstrated excellent performance at the King of the Hammers race in 2008.

In the fall of 2008 the Portal-Tek team put their collective heads together and conceptualized a new dropout third member design based on the 14 Bolt ring and pinion. This new product became known as the Super-14. The Super-14 made its debut in Moab at the 2009 Easter Jeep Safari.

Portal-Tek continued to sell axle product until the company ceased operations in the beginning of 2010.
